Good ol Mallard

Not a great deal to post at the moment as I'm still not getting out, hopefully over the next week or so I will have something to post, for now here's a shot of a Mallard Duck.

Not something I usually photograph with them being so common, but I liked this shot and hope you do too.

Photo taken with a Nikon D70 + Sigma 170-500mm.

  1. Perfect, Mike. The low POV makes it even more intriguing!

  2. Mike as your photo shows there is great beauty in the common. Wouldn't our lives seem a little empty if we didn't go the the local ponds and see a couple of Mallards loafing about?

  5. I gotta get that lens. LOL

Mine is a Canon but I need a longer lens as most of my shots are taken in my 80x100 foot backyard and sometimes I need something to get out to the edges.

This is a magnificent shot. The details are fantastic as is the color.

  7. I'm with you on the ducks. I like looking at someone else's photos but when I take them I guess I just want something new that I haven't done before. This is a great shot and the detail is wonderful.

  11. Mallards are very common here too, but the beauty of your photo is not so common. You have highlighted much of this duck's beauty!!
